Las Vegas Attractions

Now that I've been to Las Vegas twice, I have a lot to write about it. I first went to Las Vegas for my honeymoon and then the second time, we went last month with my Brother-in-law and his wife. Crazy fun. We ate so much. I'd love to share some pictures I took while I was there.

This, my dears, is how Las Vegas looks at night. It is beautiful. The lights here are the main attraction. Notice the Eiffel Tower; looks fabulous. Every building here has a charm of its own. The city shines in the middle of a dessert. Who would've known that someone could build something this beautiful in the middle of nowhere. It now is one of the most popular attractions in the world. People come here from everywhere. I saw A LOT of Chinese and Hispanic tourists. Not as many Indians but A lot of Europeans, though. The city is always crowded at night and traffic tends to get annoying.

This is the Bellagio Fountain and according to me, the most beautiful attraction on the Strip. People stand here for hours just to see the dancing fountains show. We had the privilege to see this spectacular view from our room's balcony at the Cosmopolitan (where we stayed).

This is the Fremont Street Experience. This is off the Strip but it is the second most popular street in Las Vegas. It is surrounded by souvenir shops, all sorts of casinos and covered over the top by a very long barrel vault canopy which plays music videos every hour. All the lights around go off when the show begins and people just stand below, watching and singing along. It is a beautiful experience.

This is the food court at the Venetian. I think this place is called Streetmosphere. I love how they did the ceiling. The atmosphere here feels as if you're having dinner in Venice, under the sky. While people dine here, old medieval plays are enacted by beautifully dressed artists. I've mostly seen pantomime's here. But there could be others. I love how the women dress in old renaissance clothes with very expressive make-up. Right in the middle of the food court, there is a Gelato stall. I didn't get a chance to get ice cream last time but it looked great.

Right before the food court, there is a man-made Grand Canal built all around the hotel (outside as well) where couples can have a romantic glide in an authentic Venetian gondola. It floats beneath bridges, cafes, balcony and vibrant Venetian streetscapes. The gondoliers sing romantic songs as they sweep you down the canal. It is a truly peaceful and might I add, extremely romantic experience. Our gondolier told us that if we kissed every time we passed under the bridge, it would bring us good luck. And we did as he said :) This was a very beautiful and memorable evening.

We had actually first watched the Phantom of the Opera and then come down for the ride. After this we had some Italian dinner at the Streetmosphere. It was just perfect.

The first picture was outside the Mirage. I just love their architecture. It's so amazing how they looked at every little detail and built such beautiful structures. The second picture amazes me. Not only did they create an Eiffel Tower, they created L'Arc de Triomphe and it's beautiful! And heck, it has a huge picture of Gordon Ramsey! I'm a huge fan of Gordon Ramsey and this just looks so great; like his very own little monument.

I better stop writing now. There's a lot more I'd love to mention about Vegas because there is just so much to do. I will put up another post sometime soon.

Bye for now!
